#15884, Design of Recycled Titanium-Aluminium based Composites Reinforced with TiB2-TiC produced by Sinter-Forging
Titanium-Aluminium intermetallic-based composites are potential applications in aeronautical industry as multifunctional materials. In this work, recycled Ti-Al based composites reinforced with TiB2 and TiC were fabricated by using powder metallurgy-combined method sinter + forging. Stress relaxation tests are aimed to explain deformation mechanism with the specimens treated under the extreme conditions (Humidity, temperature, etc.). As a result, mechanical properties of the sintered forging composites were considerably improved. Mechanical and Physical-Chemical properties were measured. Diffusion mechanism at the matrix-reinforcement interface are also investigated by using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
